Abeka definitely has some good points, but the lessons started feeling really repetitive after a while. Some days it felt like we were just going through the same thing again and again, and the pacing was either dragging or just not matching where my kid was at. He got bored quickly, and I started getting frustrated too. It kind of reminded me of dealing with those automated phone systems that keep looping you through the same options without actually helping. It might work for some families, but it just wasn’t a great fit for us.

This has been a good fit for our family and lines up well with our faith. The lessons feel solid and easy to trust, and I also appreciated getting clear emails and receipts after signing up.

We’ve been using Abeka for homeschool i really like how flexible it is. Some days we get started late, other days we have to split lessons up between errands or whatever, and it still works out fine. It takes a Lot of pressure off me because I don’t feel like everything has to be perfect every single day. It’s been a really good fit for our family.

I like how the tests and grades are laid out. It’s super easy to follow, which is nice because tracking my kids’ schoolwork can usually be a total pain in the butt. This makes it way less stressful and a lot less of a messy headache.

The lessons themselves are okay, but we didn’t realize how much we’d need to be involved every single day. It started feeling like a lot to keep up with on top of everything else. Not really what we had in mind.

The video lessons have been helpful for keeping my kid on track, so I can’t really complain too much. But some of the lessons feel a bit long and kind of old-fashioned, which makes it harder for them to stay interested. It mostly works for us, I just wish it was more engaging. Has anyone else run into the same issue?

I kind of went in assuming the accreditation process would involve a lot of waiting on paperwork, that’s exactly how it felt. The steps themselves were clear enough, it just took some patience while everything got sorted. Support was helpful whenever I had questions, and in the end we got through it without any real issues.

Not gonna lie, abeka is very upfront about its Christian viewpoint, which I actually appreciated because it didn’t feel hidden or sneaky. The lessons are consistent and easy enough for my kids to follow without a lot of confusion. I do wish there were a bit more variety and diversity in the examples, but overall, it’s been a good fit for our family.

I had to cancel one item before it shipped, which wasn’t really a big deal. The return rules were clear, and these refunds always seem to take longer than you expect, so I wasn’t too surprised. It did take a bit of time, but overall it felt fair enough.

Dealing with the transcript stuff was a bit of a headache. The recordkeeping felt messy, and getting transcripts took longer than I think is really fair for students who are just trying to move things along. I get that these things can take time, but the process could definitely be more organized and reasonable.

We used Abeka this year for my 7-year-old and 10-year-old, it was a relief that the grade levels actually made sense for both of them. I’ve tried stuff before where I’m sitting there wondering if it’s way too easy or suddenly way too much, and it’s so frustrating. My younger one wasn’t overwhelmed, but still had enough to do that I felt like she was really learning.

I liked not having to constantly guess what lesson should come next or if we were falling behind. It made keeping them on track a lot less stressful, and at this point, I will gladly take anything that makes homeschool days feel less chaotic.

I felt like I kept having to ask the same thing just to get a clear answer. Definitely not the kind of support I was expecting.

Bottom line, Abeka has been a really solid fit for our family. We’ve been using it for about 2 years now, and I can say my kids are learning and retaining the material. The lessons are clear and structured, which I appreciate, though it can feel like a lot on some days. Still, overall it works for us and has made homeschooling feel more manageable.

We started this maybe last fall or around then, and I’ll be honest, the expectations are high. It was a little tough at first, but my kid is actually learning a lot and seems to be getting more confident. Not always easy, but for us it’s been worth it.
